An over-used style in modern Web Design surely is Grunge. It is relatively simple to realize: with some photoshop tricks it’s possible to create stunning effects in a few minutes. A grunge website often is a mix of “confuse” stuff and a good use of textures, but however with a logical order to highlight the contents.
In the last designs, that I’ve noticed in quality galleries, it’s evident that designers are making use of subtle and soft textures to create clean web designs with an impressive visual impact and it’s arduous, at least for me, to define this simply “Grunge.”
As you will see in the following showcase, the most common section where textures are used is the background image. The goal is to make clear and immediate the contents and to higlight the typography creating a good contrast between textured backgrounds and texts. The results are absolutely stunning, and it’s fantastic to see as a soft texture can create a beautiful effect.
